Waves ‘98
SYNOPSIS
隔絶されたベイルート郊外での生活に幻滅したオマールが見つけたものは、彼を街の深部へと導いていく。自分自身の現実から親密で、同時に切り離されたその世界において、オマールは、自分が帰属できる場所、家の感覚を求め続けていることに気づく。
Disillusioned with his life in the suburbs of segregated Beirut, Omar's discovery lures him into the depths of the city. Immersed into a world that is so close yet so isolated from his reality, he eventually finds himself struggling to keep his attachments, his sense of home.

Ely Dagher
ブリュッセルとベイルートの二都市を拠点とするイーリー・ダガーは1985年にレバノン・ベイルートで生まれた。ロンドンのゴールドスミス大学のコンテンポラリー・アート理論およびニューメディアにて修士号を取得。それ以前には、レバノン美術大学でアニメーションとグラフィック・アート、イラストレーションを学んでいた。Waves ‘98は2015年のカンヌ映画祭短編部門のパルムドールを受賞した。
Currently living between Brussels and Beirut, Ely Dagher was born in 1985, in Beirut, Lebanon. He received a Masters of Arts in contemporary art theory and new media from Goldsmiths college in London. Previously he had received a Bachelors in animation as well as a Bachelors in graphic arts and illustration at the Academie Libanaise Des Beaux Arts in Lebanon. His latest short film Waves '98 was awarded the short film palme d'or at the 2015 Cannes film Festival.
