SYNOPSIS
祖父の過去は常にすぐそばにあった。祖父がそれを語ることは決してなかったが、言葉や行動に垣間見られた。今になって、私が知る祖父の人生や人柄を見つめ直し、祖父が残してくれたものの重みを感じている。
My grandpa’s past was always very present. It would break through in something he’d say or do, but he’d never talk about it. Only now, by revisiting his life and personality as I knew him, do I feel the weight of his inheritance.

Pascal Floerks
1982年11月10日、ドイツのヴォルムスに生まれる。早くからアニメーションに対して情熱を示し、最初の映画を制作したのはまだ子供の頃だった。イーザーローンのBusiness and Information Technology Schoolでメディア・マネジメントの学位を取得した後、メディア制作の創造的な面の探求を希望し、Baden-Wuerttembergのフィルムアカデミーで学び続けることを決める。学生プロジェクトやアメリカのブルースカイ・スタジオでのプロとしての仕事でキャラクター・テクニカル・ディレクターとしての経験を積んだ。ドイツに戻ってからは、ポリノイド、ウッドブロック、スタジオ・ソイなどのスタジオで多くのプロジェクトに貢献した。最近では、オスカーノミネート作品の『Room on the Broom』で主任キャラクター・テクニカル・ディレクターを務めた。2014年3月、『Bär』の完成をもってフィルムアカデミーの課程を終えた。
Pascal Floerks, born in Worms , Germany, on November 10th 1982, discovered his passion for animation as early on, making his first films as a child. After successful completion of a media management degree at the Business and Information Technology School Iserlohn, he wished to explore the creative side of media production and so decided to continue his education at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. He gathered plentiful experience as a character TD on numerous student projects and also professionally at Blue Sky Studios in the US. Back home in Germany, he’s contributed to a multitude of projects for studios such as Polynoid, Woodblock and Studio Soi, most recently as lead character TD on the Oscar-nominated film ”Room on the Broom”. As of March 2014, Pascal concluded his studies at the Filmakademie with the completion of his film ”Bär”.
