The jury is honored to introduce our selection for the Japanese Grand Prix. In this film the devotion to the craft of animation, drawn on paper, is pushed and stretched beyond boundary. Perhaps I should say written on paper, as words drift into oceans and beautiful explosions of letters and lines transform and layer a poem within a poem. It is our great pleasure to announce ‘Miserable Miracle’ by Ryo Orikasa’ as the winner for the Japanese Grand Prix!
