My Organs Lying on the Ground

SYNOPSIS
A visual poem in three-dimensional animation set within tainai-kuguri, a Japanese folk-religious practice of passing through a sacred inner space, and the spiritual hollow world associated with it. In Japanese, tainai refers not only to the womb, but also to the hollow interior of a Buddhist statue—a mysterious, somewhat dark, infinite void that evokes both the origin of all life and a place of repose after death. Within this space, the boundary between living beings and matter dissolves, while the outer and inner worlds continuously reverse and interchange. The work is planned to be presented both theatrically and as a moving-image installation.
