1968年香川県生まれ。自身を「現在美術家」と称し、映像、グラフィックデザイン、VJ、文筆、キュレーションなど多岐にわたって活動。2010年3月に立ち上げたライブストリーミングチャンネル「DOMMUNE」は、宇川自身がキュレーションを手がけ、多種多彩なトーク、国内外のDJのプレイ、ライブなどを月曜日から木曜日まで、毎日平均5時間にわたり配信する。そのほか、オードリー・ヘップバーン、赤瀬川原平、ジャック・デリダ、ウルトラセブンなど、古今東西の著名人を宇川自身に「憑依」させて書くサインシリーズなども発表。2015年には「高松メディアアート祭」のゼネラル・ディレクターおよびキュレーター、「アルスエレクトロニカ」のサウンドアート部門審査員も務めた。

Born in 1968, Ukawa is an all-round artist who works as a filmmaker, graphic designer, VJ, university professor, writer, and "Genzai-Bijutsuka (contemporary artist focusing nowness). He considers himself a “MEDIA THERAPIST”, who erases the existing framework of fine art and popular culture, which makes him the freest man to express in Japan. In March 2010, he suddenly launched his own live-streaming studio and channel DOMMUNE, which boasts overwhelmingly high popularity and quality among the hundreds of streaming programs, and has been a hot topic of conversation in Japan and abroad for 10 years since its launch. In November 2019, it will move to the Creative Studio on the 9th floor of SHIBUYA PARCO, Tokyo and evolved as SUPER DOMMUNE, with the aim of UPDATE with the most advanced/avant-garde technology after 5G.
