国際コンペティション プリ・アルスエレクトロニカPrix Ars Electronicaは、1987年の設立当初からComputer Animation部門を設置。同趣旨の部門としては世界最古のものとなっています。過去の受賞作品の歴史を見ていけば、『トイストーリー』や『タイタニック』などハリウッドにおけるCG作品からドキュメンタリー、VRまで、デジタル技術およびCGというテクノロジーが時代ごとにどの分野で最先端の探求をしてきたのかがわかる歴史を築いています。今回の上映プログラムでは、2018年の同部門の受賞作品からのセレクションをお届けします。このセレクションからは、デジタル・テクノロジーが人間の知覚・世界認識を変えつつあることが浮き彫りになります。上映後には、プリ・アルスエレクトロニカ ヘッドの小川絵美子氏によるトークも。
Since its inception in 1987, the international competition Prix Ars Electronica had a Computer Animation division. It is the oldest one of its kind in the world. If you look at the history of award-winning films, you can see how digital technology has been developed and employed in different fields over time from Hollywood films to documentaries and VR. This screening program features the award-winning film in 2018 winners from this category. This selection highlights how digital technology is changing human perception and understanding of the world. After the screening, the festival invites Emiko Ogawa, head of Prix Ars Electronica, for a short talk.
