同調圧力に呻吟する人が増えています。老若男女を問わず多くの人々が「空気を読めない」罪悪感から自身を追い込んでいく、そんな現代社会の歪みに正面から無防備なまでの直球で切り込んだ意欲作と言わねばなりません。リアルなデザインを敢えて排除し、「かわいらしいアイコン」として最大公約数的に認知され得る(つまり同調圧力に屈した)記号的キャラクターを設定する事で、安直なハートフルドラマに陥る事なく、現代人に巣食う「病み」をアイロニカルに活写しています。もし本作が単なる「スタイルとしての社会派ドラマ」に留まっていたなら、これほど我々の心を揺り動かすには至れなかったでしょう。画面からは作者自身の声にならない咆哮が噴出しているのです。身を焦がす憤りと爆発、そして果てしない孤独、まだ道は見えないけれど、とにかく進むしかない、そんな「あがき」のアニメーション作品に我々は激しく打ちのめされたのです。
Many people suffered from the peer pressure. Regardless of age and young man, they feel the sin to say something different from the others. This film deals with this topic in a straight forwarded way. A “pretty” character design makes them anonymous and ironically tells a “disease” that infects people living in this era. This is not a drama with a social topic. This is a cry from a heart. The anger explodes and burns the soul. Then the Infinite loneliness. Even if the road is not visible, one should head to somewhere. This film is a struggle itself.
