イゴール・プラッツェルは1971年にスロベニアの海辺の街コペラで生まれた。スロベニア唯一のコミック誌Stripburgerの共同編集者を長年務め、1998年からはスロベニアン・シネマテークで月１のアニメーション映画上映を行う。フリーランスのジャーナリスト、アニメーション映画のプログラマーとして仕事をし、スロベニア国内外問わず、様々な映画祭や現代美術のフェスティバルにも関わっている。2008年から2014年にはザグレブ国際アニメーション映画祭でプログラム・アドバイザーの職も担当。スロベニアン・シネマテークは2012年、彼の著書The Filmography of Slovene Animated Film 1952-2012を出版。2017年2月には彼をスロベニアン・シネマテークのプログラム部門のキュレーター兼代表に任命した。2004年にはアニマテカ映画祭を設立し、アーティスティック・ディレクターを務めている。

was born in 1971 in the Slovenian coast town Koper-Capodistria. He was a long time co-editor of the only Slovene comics magazine Stripburger. From 1998 he is running a monthly animation film program at the Slovenian Cinematheque. He is working as a freelance journalist, animation film programmer and board member for many different film and contemporary arts festivals in Slovenia and abroad. From 2008 until 2014 he collaborated with the World Festival of Animated Films Animafest Zagreb as programme adviser. In 2012 the Slovenian Cinematheque published his book “The Filmography of Slovene Animated Film 1952 – 2012”. From 2013 until 2016 he was the director of the Festival of Slovenian Film. From February 2017 he was appointed as film curator and head of the program department at the Slovenian Cinematheque. In 2004 he founded the International Animation Film Festival Animateka, where he is the artistic director.
