廃棄されたフィルムに直接ドローイングやペインティングを施し、独自のフィルム素材を作り出す実験アニメーション作家。ファウンド・フィルムの表面にコラージュも行い、それぞれのフィルムが持つヴィジュアル、リズム、ジェスチャー、記録された音同士の関係性を探る作品を制作する。彼女の作品はアヌシー、オタワ、アナーバーを含むいくつもの国際映画祭で上映されている。
Gina Kamentsky is an experimental animator who creates handmade films by drawing and painting directly onto found film footage. In addition, she collages elements from found film onto the surface. In her work, she explores relationships between surface, rhythm, gesture and field recorded sound. Her animation work has screened at numerous festivals including Annecy, Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
