SYNOPSIS
草むらに潜むキツネの努力は報われる。聞き取りやすいナレーターの声が、ある島へと誘う。そこでは、羽毛や毛皮に包まれた生き物たちが生存競争が繰り広げているのだ。結局のところ、クマが一番可愛いのだ――あなたがウサギでないかぎり。このアニメーションは動物ドキュメンタリーの風景映像と似通っているが、登場するのは「スモーキー・ベア」ではなく鋭いユーモアだし、眼前に広がるのは艶やかな自然ではなく不条理の点描である。
Lurking in the grass has paid off for the fox. The narrator’s apprehensive voice takes us to an island where a battle for survival rages among creatures feathered and furry. After all, a bear is only cute if you’re not a rabbit. The animation resembles landscape shots from animal documentaries—but instead of Smokey the Bear we’re served pointed humor, instead of glossy nature, the images are rampant with sprawling absurdity.

Aleksandar Radan was born in Offenbach am Main in 1988. He has been studying art at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach since 2010.His work is concerned with digital media and the fact that we are continually lagging behind. This notion of “lagging behind” may be understood on a metaphorical level.
