Zhen Li

L.A.を拠点に活動する中国系アメリカ人のアニメーション作家。「２つのものの間」「中間」の表現を中心とし、暗闇、ズレ、歪んだ現実、抑え込まれた感情への親和性を表現。アニメーションを制作する以前は、Neri&HuやFieldoffice Architectsなどの一流企業で建築デザイナーとして働き、『The Cloud in Her Room』 などの受賞歴のある長編映画では実写のライン・プロデューサーを務めた。ペンシルバニア大学で建築と心理学の学士号を取得し、現在はカリフォルニア芸術大学で実験的アニメーションの修士課程に在籍中。

Zhen is a Chinese American animation artist based in LA. Her work centers around expressing the in-between, and often reveals an affinity to darkness, misalignment, warping realities and folded feelings. Before making animation, Zhen worked as an architectural designer at renowned firms such as Neri&Hu and Fieldoffice Architects, and as a live-action line producer on award-winning feature films such as The Cloud in Her Room. Zhen received a BA in architecture and psychology from UPenn, and is pursuing an MFA in experimental animation at CalArts.
