King Gnu、millennium parade、WONK、DUSTCELLなどの著名アーティストとコラボレーションしたミュージックビデオを多数手がけ、昨年はTVアニメ『オッドタクシー』のオープニングアニメーションを手がけたことでも話題を呼んだアニメーション作家・山田遼志。2020年には、同世代のアーティストたちとクリエイティブハウス・mimoidを設立。グループ展の企画など、その活動はさらなる広がりをみせています。本トークプログラムでは、山田はいかにしてアニメーションと向き合ってきたのか、アニメーション作家としての歩みを振り返りながら語っていただきます。

山田遼志 (YAMADA Ryoji)
2013年多摩美術大学大学院グラフィックデザイン専攻修了。2018年文化庁海外派遣研修員 として、ドイツのフィルムアカデミーに留学。現在mimoidに在籍。女子美術大学短期大学部非常勤講師。広告映像に携わりながら作品制作を行う。アヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭をはじめ国内外の映画祭やメディアで上映、掲載、受賞。代表作に、King Gnu「PrayerX」、Millennium Parade「Trepanation」、OddTaxiオープニング映像、NHKアニメ・イン・ザ・ダーク「音を見る物語」など。
Graduated from Tama Art University with a master ‘s degree in Graphic Design in 2013, and studied abroad at the Filmakademie in Germany as an overseas trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2018. Currently enrolled at mimoid. Part-time teaching at Joshibi University of Art and Design Junior College. Creating animation works while working on advertising films. His works have been screened, published, and awarded in domestic and international film festivals and media, including the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. His works include “PrayerX” for KingGnu, “Trepanation” for Millennium Parade, the opening image for OddTaxi, and “A Story of Seeing Sound” for NHK Animation in the Dark.
