本プログラムは、映画祭の国際審査員を務める、中国のアニメーション作家ツァイベイ・ツァイが選んだ中国インディペンデント新鋭作家による短編アニメーション作品の特集上映です。
This program features animated short films by a new generation of Chinese independent filmmakers, selected by artist Caibei CAI, who is a member of the Intenational Jury.
STATEMENT
このプログラムでは、中国の新世代クリエイターによる短編アニメーション10作品を上映する。地元に根ざしたものもあれば、海外での体験を経た作品もあり、現代中国のインディペンデント･アニメーションが多様な活力を持っていることが分かるだろう。私自身の創作活動の方向性として、“体”というテーマが映像においてどのように表現されているかという点に注目している。体は個人の体験を最も直接的に媒介するものであると同時に、文化的・社会的思想が投影される場でもある。
本セレクションの全作品が“体”を出発点としているわけではないが、体という存在に対する独自の視点を映し出している。自己と外界の関係、媒体と感覚の交差、身体を通じた記憶の再構築、そしてアイデンティティの流動性あるいは断裂。これらの作品を通して、体は絶えず変容する開かれた存在として描かれる。この探求をさらに深めるため、観客の皆さんには各作品に対応したエクササイズをお勧めする。

This program presents ten animated shorts by a new generation of Chinese creators. Some are rooted in local contexts, while others traverse foreign experiences, together revealing the plural vitality of contemporary Chinese independent animation. My own creative orientation leads me to focus on how the theme of the ”body” is articulated in moving images: the body as the most immediate medium of individual experience, and as a site where cultural and social ideas are projected.
Not all works in this selection take the ”body” as their starting point, yet they refract distinct perspectives on bodily existence: the relation between self and the external world, the intersections of medium and sensation, the reconstruction of memory through the body, and the fluidity or fracture of identity. Across these films, the body appears as an open, continuously transforming entity. To extend this exploration, the audience is invited to follow a series of suggested exercises, each corresponding to one of the works.
