本プログラムでは、本映画祭の国際審査員をつとめるアニメーション作家のシュペラ・チャデシュ氏を迎え、自身のキャリアと制作スタイルについてお話していただきます。
This program presents animation filmmaker Špela ČADEŽ, a member of the International Jury, who speaks about her career and creative style.
STATEMENT
シュペラ・チャデシュはアニメーション監督であり、スロベニアのリュブリャナにあるFintaスタジオの共同設立者。アナログアニメーションに情熱を注いでいる。彼女の作品は世界中の映画祭で130以上の賞を受賞し、サンダンス映画祭、ロカルノ国際映画祭、クレルモン＝フェラン国際短編映画祭、アヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭といった主要なコンペティションで上映されている。オリジナルのシナリオや文学的モチーフを用いることで、個人的な物語を普遍的なものへと昇華させる。直線的なストーリー展開でありながら、登場人物の内面や感情と外側の現実の移り変わりや本筋から外れる描写が多く見られる。アニメーションスタンドを用いてマルチプレーン･カメラを試すなど、様々な視覚的アプローチを探求するとともに、アルコールをはじめとする様々な依存症、言葉による暴力など、普段はあまり語られることのないテーマを扱う。
自身の作品に加え、受注制作の経験やFintaスタジオでの創作プロセスについても語る予定。
Špela Čadež is an animation filmmaker and co-founder of Finta Studio in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and her heart beats for analogue animation. Her films have received over 130 awards at festivals worldwide and have been screened in major competitions at Sundance, Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, and Annecy. Špela Čadež transforms intimate stories into universal ones by working with original scenarios or literary motifs. Her stories are linear but at the same time full of digressions and transitions between inner states, feelings, and external reality. Using an animation stand, she tries out the multiplane technique, explores different visual approaches and deals with topics such as addiction, alcoholism, and verbal violence, which are otherwise not talked about much.
In addition to her own films, she will also talk about her experience with commissioned work and present the creative process at Finta Studio.

Špela Čadež is animation director and co-founder of Finta Studio in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her films have received 100+ awards at festivals worldwide and were screened in competition selections such as the Sundance Film Festival, Clermont Ferrand and Annecy. A passionate advocate for the analogue, Čadež has impressed with films in puppet and cut-out animation techniques.
