「マイエアポート」プロジェクト My Airport

「マイエアポート」は、千歳市の空港開港から来年2026年で100年を迎えることを記念し、北海道在住の映像アーティスト・大島慶太郎氏の監督のもとで、市民参加によりひとつの映像を制作するアニメーション制作プロジェクトです。これまで、千歳市内のイベントでワークショップを展開するほか、地域の教育機関や市民サークルなど様々な方々の協力を得て、映像の一部となるアニメーション原画を市民参加で制作してきました。
本プロジェクトについて、映画祭期間中に完成作品披露セレモニーと、制作ワークショップを開催します。

"My Airport" is a project, starting from the opening of New Chitose Airport, that reached its 100th anniversary in 2026.

Directed by Hokkaido-based video artist OSHIMA Keitaro, it involves citizens participating in the creation of a piece of animation work. After holding workshops during many events in the city of Chitose, and with the support of regional education institutions and citizen groups, as well as many other people who collaborated, animation cels that will be used in a part of the work were created.

During the film festival, we will hold a ceremony to showcase the resulting video and offer a production workshop where participants will be able to join in the creation of this piece of art.

「北海」第１号の飛来からはじまる千歳市と空港の物語に思いを馳せながら、この夏、市内の飛行機のある風景や空港の内外を記録してきました。空を渡る機影はいつも魅力的で、カメラを向けるたびに新しい表情を見せ、どれだけ撮っても撮り尽くせないほどです。
その記録映像をもとに、ワークショップなどを通じて多くの方々に作品の素材となるひとコマを描いていただきました。ロトスコープというアニメーション技法を応用し、現実と人々の記憶を繋ぐ映像として紡いでいます。
思えば、映画と飛行機はどちらも、19世紀末から20世紀初頭の同時期に生まれた人類の夢を現実にする大発明でした。“現実の空”と“架空の世界”という、それまで未踏だった空間に人間の新たな活動を生み出したとも言えます。
空港開港100年という千歳市の歴史に関わりながら、世界でも稀な空港を会場とするこの映画祭で本プロジェクトの成果をお披露目できることに喜びを感じています。同時に映画と飛行機のあいだにある、言葉にできない何かを表現できそうな感覚に、映像作家としてワクワクしながら制作を進めています。
映画祭期間中は会場内でもワークショップを展開します。来場される皆さんにも、ぜひそれぞれの「マイエアポート」のひとコマを描き加えていたただき、このワクワクを共有できたら嬉しいです。


Reflecting on the story of Chitose and its airport, which began with the arrival of the first aircraft, “Hokkai No. 1,” I spent this summer documenting scenes of airplanes around the city and both inside and outside the airport. The silhouettes of aircraft crossing the sky are endlessly fascinating; every time I point my camera at them, they reveal a new expression, and no matter how much I film, it never feels like enough.

Using this footage as a starting point, I invited many people through workshops and other activities to draw individual frames that would become part of the work. By applying the animation technique of rotoscoping, I am weaving these images together into a moving work that connects reality with people’s memories.

When I think about it, cinema and aviation were both great inventions born around the same period, from the late 19th to the early 20th century, turning humanity’s dreams into reality. In a sense, they opened up entirely new realms for human activity: the “real sky” and the “imaginary world,” spaces that had previously remained beyond our reach.

I am delighted to present the results of this project at this festival, held in the rare setting of an airport, while taking part in Chitose’s history as it marks 100 years since the opening of its airport. At the same time, as a filmmaker, I am excited by the feeling that this project might allow me to express something ineffable that exists somewhere between cinema and aviation.

Workshops will also take place at the festival venue during the event. I hope visitors will add their own frames of their personal “My Airport” to the project, and that we can share this sense of excitement together.
